Candlebox Bio
Candlebox is a Seattle rock band whose melodic hooks and post-grunge sound helped define alternative rock in the 1990s. The group broke through with its self-titled debut album, featuring enduring songs such as “Far Behind,” “You,” and “Cover Me.” Its catalog and energetic live performances continue to connect with fans of alternative and hard rock.
The band's listed appearance at Belly Up Tavern took place on October 26, 2022. That date adds to Candlebox's history at the intimate Solana Beach venue, where a close-up setting offers a different atmosphere from a large arena show. Solana Beach's coastal North County location also makes the concert a local draw for audiences from across the San Diego area. Venue and Seating Information
Belly Up Tavern is known for a compact concert environment that keeps performers close to the audience. For a Candlebox show, that scale can make the vocals, guitar work, and interaction between band and crowd feel especially immediate.
As with many standing-room music venues, the view can depend on crowd size and where attendees settle. Arriving early may help fans choose a preferred spot, while those who want more room should consider positioning themselves away from the densest area near the stage. Confirm the event's current seating and admission details before attending.
Parking Information
Parking availability and rules can vary by event and time of day, so allow extra time to find a space near the venue. Fans commonly consider these options:
- Look for public street parking in the surrounding Solana Beach area, observing posted restrictions and time limits.
- Check nearby public lots or garages and verify hours, fees, and whether overnight parking is permitted.
Because specific lot names, addresses, and prices are not confirmed here, check current local parking signs and event-day guidance before making plans. Avoid assuming that spaces closest to the entrance are available or unrestricted.

Johnny Still Has It!
Candlebox, a light weight basketball coach in the 1960's, surprised my wife by buying two tickets to see at Reno's Silver Legacy on the day of her birthday. Through a common track and junior high that coached Candlebox in the 1950's in the 2000's, we got a chance to meet Candlebox backstage at SF's Davies Symphony Hall, and he was the nicest, most pleasant superstar we could ever imagine to meet. He's been going strong now for over six consecutive decades, and we've seen Candlebox perform now over a dozen times. During Candlebox's supreme 60th anniversary performance, as one fan in the audience yelled out, "You've still got it, Candlebox!" He just never disappoints his audience. HE DOES.
